Literature Text

darling, tiptoeing through mosses
and collecting stones must give you
time to learn ways to speak

without changing language
yet speaking entirely different.
tell me, do you change with
the seasons, like the leaves in the fall?
are you painted in reds and golds,

or does color coat you through the year
refusing to hide you in snow storms
(does the cold bite at you, or are
you at ease in the tundra

one careful step after the next
if only never to upset winter-
kissed moss before spring?)

i used your poem and the various (like two pages) worth of responses from you as reference, and i'm pretty sure i went entirely left field. oops.

Thank you very much for this beautifully formed poem. It's perfectly fine if you strayed from a direct respone. This is a way no one has written to me before as a poetic letter. After all, you answered my last stanza from the last letter to you:

It's interesting to know that, new poem pal
But now it is your turn
To see through me, and if you raise
Any questions of any kind
Ask me, and I will answer

I promise I'll answer your questions in this letter when I get the time to get back to you. Thanks again.
